CUOA Business School representatives, one of the most important management schools in Italy, visited Portugal on last October 3rd, with a small group of 10 company representatives with the main objective of learn and exchange with significant entities (institutions, associations etc.) how the themes of sustainability and circular economy are promoted and put into practices.

The article “Towards a trainer profile on green skills for Portugal: Bus.Trainers Project” was accepted at the EDULEARN18 conference, held on 2-4 July 2018 in Palma de Mallorca, on the Portuguese results based on the “Report on Skills gaps in Portugal”. It was coordinated by the National Energy and Geology Laboratory (LNEG) and by the participation of the Portuguese partner Centre for the Professional Training of the Southern Civil Construction and Public Works Industry (CENFIC), as well as the project coordinator, Fundación Laboral de la Construcción.
The globalization, automation, and digitalization have tested the knowledge of the employees, whose have required to upskill and re-skill for increase their competitiveness inside the labor market.
This fact has affected in a high way to the adults, who are working or have a stable employment, as they need to refresh their own skills and develop others to face the new challenges of the construction sector and compete with other professionals on an equal footing.
It was held on June 27 at LNEG, Lisbon, the lecture “What are green skills? The profile of the trainer in the green skills in the construction industry in Portugal” which intended to make a brief summary of the European project BuS.Trainers, already in the second year of realization.

Trainer training, professional qualifications, user awareness and compliance with quality standards are key aspects for the 2020 horizon, according to experts who participated in the informative seminar on «The importance of training of trainers in ‘green’ skills for the construction sector», organized by Confederación Nacional de la Construcción (CNC), with the collaboration of Fundación Laboral de la Construcción, on Thursday May 10th, attended by about twenty representatives of institutions and companies from the construction industry and the field of training.
Through this leaflet about the BuS Trainers project, for anyone who is interested to know more in a simple, concise and clear way, why it is important for the construction industry to rely on the training of trainers in greenskills, which eventually will lead them to acquire specialized knowledge in energy efficient (EE) and management of renewal energy system (RES).
Waiting for the results of the public consultation of the European Commission to review the rules applicable to construction products
The Departments Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs of the European Commission, created the 22th of January a public consultation on EU rules for products used in the construction of buildings and infrastructure works.
The public consultation, which ended on April 16, was done in the framework of Regulation (EU) n ° 305/2011 which provide harmonized conditions for the commercialization of construction products, set standards for the evaluation of the performance of construction products and they communicated in technical language, common to the all European community.
The “Eco-trainer” qualification for the construction industry will be launched on the second half of 2019
European project Bus.Trainers’s consortium designed a professional qualification, specialized in energy efficient and renewal energy system which will be recognized by the EU.
Eleven partners from Spain, Greece, Italy, Malta and Portugal just finished “Eco-trainer”, the qualification in Vocational Training (VET) for trainers in the construction sector, it was developed under the European project framework called Bus.Trainers. It is a specialized training in specific competences in energy efficient (EE) and renewal energy system (RES), based on innovate tools for trainers who seek raising, from trainers’ knowledge, the competitiveness in the industry and its transmission to the workers and future employees of the sector.
