Article accepted in “10th annual International Conference on Education and New Learning Technologies – EDULEARN18”

The article “Towards a trainer profile on green skills for Portugal: Bus.Trainers Project” was accepted at the EDULEARN18 conference, held on 2-4 July 2018 in Palma de Mallorca, on the Portuguese results based on the “Report on Skills gaps in Portugal”. It was coordinated by the National Energy and Geology Laboratory (LNEG) and by the participation of the Portuguese partner Centre for the Professional Training of the Southern Civil Construction and Public Works Industry (CENFIC), as well as the project coordinator, Fundación Laboral de la Construcción.

The article presents the strategy and results of the project for Portugal regarding the construction of the profile of the trainer in “Green Skills”, in the context of the European Project BuS.Trainers. It includes the results of the online survey and semi-structured interviews completed by Vocational Education and Training (VET) trainers and other specialists to identify and define the existing green skills gaps.

The BuS.Trainers project is coordinated by Fundación Laboral de la Construcción and involves five European countries: Spain, Greece, Italy, Malta and Portugal. This European project has a duration of 3 years and started in December 2016.

Regarding the EDULEARN conference, after 10 years, it has become a reference event for teachers, researchers, technologists and professionals in the educational sector where participants present their projects and share their knowledge on teaching and learning methodologies and educational innovation. It is considered an “ideal platform for international strategic networking, as well as the best place to present innovations and projects on education and technology”.

All accepted contributions are included in the Digital Library IATED, to be part of the database of innovative projects in Education and Technology and the minutes of this edition, as in previous editions, will be sent to be evaluated for future inclusion in the ISI Conference Proceedings Citation Index. In addition, for each article published in the conference proceedings, a DOI (Digital Object Identifier) number will be assigned for easy citation and indexing.
